Ongoing Client Costs

Provided that your investment portfolio through us amounts to £40,000 or more in value, once a year,
we will send you a valuation statement and invite you to review your general finances with us.

If you decide to accept the review invitation:

  • We will quantify your current income, expenditure, liquidity and tax position with you.
  • We will also review your current asset allocation, capacity for loss and risk profile,
  • We will advise you on future financial planning, tax planning and estate planning.
  • If any changes are advisable in your investment portfolio, we will recommend alternatives.

The charge for this annual review is £750. However:

  •  During the preceding twelve months, 0.5% of the value of your investment portfolio will have been debited to your investment portfolio and paid to us as monthly adviser fees.
  • This means that we are paid £5 for each £1,000 of your investment portfolio value.
  • Where the adviser fees paid to us over the preceding twelve months do not amount to £750, the balance will be payable by you to us in order to commence the review process.
  • Or you can authorise payment to us from your investment portfolio, if you prefer.

If the adviser fees paid to us over the preceding twelve months exceed £15,000:

  • We will agree a new, bespoke “Terms of Business” with you going forwards.
  • For these purposes, we will aggregate funds under advice for any of your family members for  whom we act, whether or not they reside in your household – so wider as well as direct family.

If you prefer not to have your investment portfolio debited with monthly adviser fees, we can arrange a monthly bank account debit, the amount of which will be adjusted annually with your agreement.

There are also other charges that can be incurred as follows:

  • If we switch an investment for you, we charge 1% of the amount moved (£10 for each £1,000moved). This is payable to us directly or via your investment account, if you prefer.
  • For any additional cash investments that we process on your behalf, there is an adviser fee on exactly the same basis as indicated on the previous page for new cash investment. Again, this can be paid directly to us or it can be debited to your investment account, if you prefer.

We believe all adviser fees are VAT-exempt. If this is ever over-ruled by HM Revenue & Customs, we will not back-charge clients, but future fees will be increased to meet future VAT liabilities.
